Terms of Service

By using The Council. (“the site”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not sign in or use the tools. These terms apply equally to anonymous browsing and signed-in use.

The site is a non-commercial fan project run for the PokeMMO community. There is no paid tier, no advertising, and no business relationship with Nintendo, Game Freak, or the franchise rights holders.

Signing in requires a valid Discord account. By signing in you confirm that you meet Discord’s own minimum age requirement (13, or older where local law sets a higher age) and that the Discord account you are using is your own.

We use Discord to sign you in. You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure. If you suspect your browser has been compromised, sign out from the account page to end the session.

Each account is assigned a role. Roles control what you can do on the site, including how many teams you can save and whether you can access the moderation tools.

While using the site you agree not to:

• harass, threaten, dox, or impersonate other users or members of the broader PokeMMO community;
• post slurs, hate speech, sexual content involving minors, or other content that would be illegal in the jurisdiction the site is hosted in;
• use team names, report notes, or any other free-text field to advertise unrelated services or to publish other people’s private information;
• attempt to bypass moderation, the profanity filter, the role system, or rate limits;
• automate, scrape, or otherwise hammer the API in ways that degrade the experience for other users;
• upload anything you do not have the right to share, or claim authorship of teams that are not yours.

You retain authorship of the team builds, names, notes, and other content you create on the site. By saving content here you grant The Council. a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and distribute that content as part of running the site (for example, rendering a saved team to anyone who visits its share URL, or surfacing it inside the moderation queue).

Anything you publish through a public share code (a saved team, a strategy) is, by definition, accessible to anyone who has the code. Treat share codes as public links.

Any signed-in user can report a saved team for review. Reports are visible to moderators, who decide what to do with them. We may remove content, change a user’s role, or ban an account at our discretion when the rules above are broken.

When an account is banned:

• the account loses the ability to save new teams, change other users’ roles, and access the moderation tools;
• the account’s saved teams may be removed by a moderator and will stop being shown publicly;
• a minimal record of the ban is kept on file so the same Discord account cannot quietly re-register and continue past it. This record is preserved even if the banned account subsequently asks to delete itself.

Bans are not appealable through the site itself. Discuss them in the Discord community the site is built around.

You can delete your account at any time from the account page. Sessions are revoked immediately, teams you own are removed, and reports filed against your teams are removed with them. Reports you filed against other people’s teams are kept for the moderation history but are detached from your now-deleted account.

If your account is currently banned, deleting it leaves a minimal stub in place so the ban remains enforceable, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Pokémon and all respective names, sprites, sounds, and game data are trademarks and copyrights of Nintendo, Game Freak, and The Pokémon Company (1996 to 2026). The Council. is a non-commercial, fan-made resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them. All third-party trademarks belong to their respective owners.

The site’s own code, layout, and design tokens are the work of the maintainers and are not licensed for redistribution without permission.

The site is provided “as is.” Game data, breeding costs, damage calculations, and similar tools are best-effort community work and may be incomplete or out of date. We make no warranty that any tool will be available, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the maintainers of The Council. are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, including (without limitation) lost in-game time, lost trades, or lost competitive standings.

We may update these terms when the site changes in ways that affect what users can do or what we record. The date at the top of this page tracks the last substantive change. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
